Visit Paris during your family stay

Families with children know it, it is not always easy to find visits that will be unanimous with adults and the youngest. Paris then imposes itself as a destination of choice to make everyone agree, as the visits are numerous and fun.

Enjoy a family visit to the Opéra Garnier

Located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, a stone’s throw from the Cadet residence, the Garnier opera is a breathtaking visit during your family vacation. Even before entering the monument, its grandiose facade, with its gilding, its huge statues and its marble columns will dazzle the whole family.

Once inside, this masterpiece of 19th century theatrical architecture will continue to captivate with its huge staircase, dazzling performance hall and famous ceiling painted by artist Marc Chagall.

You can enjoy being in the Opera district to visit other unmissable sites, such as the Grévin museum, or the department stores.

Discover the Montmartre district

With its village atmosphere, its cobbled streets and its artists, the Montmartre district seduces young and old with its charm and unique atmosphere. At the top of the hill, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart offers you a panoramic view over the rooftops of Paris.

But Montmartre is also the life of artists, where big names have met there and still meet there to express their talent. The former artists’ studios can then be visited, to discover Modigliani, Picasso, Dali, Van Gogh or even Renoir.

And did you know that Montmartre was also home to the only vineyard in Paris within the walls? The Clos-Montmartre then immerses you in Old Paris, reminding you that only 2 centuries ago, the Montmartre hill was made up only of mills and vines.

See the famous Place de la Concorde

Not far from the Cadet Residence, in the 8th arrondissement, we find some of the greatest monuments of Paris, and in particular the Place de la Concorde. Located at the foot of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the luxor obelisk, dating from 1290 BC, rises to the sky, and represents the striking symbol of the Place de la Concorde. And for young history buffs, remember that this was the site of many executions, and it is here that Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette were guillotined.

On the other side of the avenue des Champs-Élysées, we also find the Triumphal arch, the famous monument dedicated to the unknown soldier.

The Louvre: visit the most famous museum in the world

A stone’s throw from Concorde, the Louvre Museum and its famous glass pyramid opens the doors to art, with a collection of more than 33,000 works. Painting, sculpture and graphic art are represented there over the centuries, cultures and eras. From Asia to America, let your family discover the most famous works in the world, such as the Mona Lisa or the Victory of Samothrace.

Coming out of several hours of visit, take advantage of the immense Tuileries garden to let off steam and get some fresh air.
